Before the graduation, in 1969, when he was at the architecture fifth year he started to show interest to the steel manufacturing. This interest brought him to create Blitz in collaboration with Stilnovo. For years Stilnovo was considered the most important company in the lighting and design sector. Blitz wasn’t just a table lamp for Trabucco, in this project we could see the fundamental concepts of the Trabucco’s philosophy, a philosophy that accompanied him for his entire career. The most important concept was to “waste less as possible”, if we carefully analyze the lamp, Blitz is made by a unique piece of metal sheet manufactured and designed to obtain the lamp that we know. It is essential in the shape and in the function it has.
In 2018 Codiceicona designed “Blitz 1969” as a tribute of one of the most important Italian designer. Created and designed as the original one with a unique piece of metal sheet. Blitz 1969 came to life as timeless table lamp, simple and plain that carries out the essential function that it was designed for: lighting. This incredible lamp is a piece of Italian design and a piece of story, a lamp that every designer and architect should have above their desk for the meaning that it has.
